WRIGHTSVILLE — Freshman Nolan Smith had 13 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown and his classmate Jeremy Smith had a 30-yard scoring run for the Cavaliers in a 27-0 win over Johnson County on Friday night.
Quarterback Sal Calderon was 3 of 4 passing for 46 yards, including a 30-yard scoring strike to Thomas Wells, and the junior also rushed for 50 yards. Vince Grassi added a touchdown run for the Cavaliers, who improved to 3-0 with the win.

SOPERTON — Freshman Jordan Grant made his first start at quarterback and led Savannah Christian to the win over Treutlen County.
Grant rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns and completed two passes for 31 yards as the Raiders (3-1) improved to 3-0 in Region 3-A play. Grant scored on runs of 10 and 31 yards.
Demetris Robertson scored on a 33-yard run and a 54-yard punt for the Raiders.

Junior quarterback Calvin Turner rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown and passed for 124 yards and two scores in New Hampstead’s win over Hephzibah. Turner had touchdown passes to Dearius Young and Jacquan White. Dominique Cooper rushed for 66 yards and a score as New Hampstead improved to 3-1 on the season.

Host Bethesda took advantage of Frederica Academy miscues in the second half en route to its fifth victory in a game played at Bible Baptist.
The Blazers (5-0) had led 21-7 at halftime as quarterback Joshua Woodley scored on two short runs and Corey Evans added 10-yard rushing TD.
Frederica (2-2) closed to 21-14 in the third quarter before Evans, a linebacker, returned a fumble 12 yards for a touchdown. After Frederica was whistled for having 12 players on the field for the extra-point attempt, Bethesda went for two and Woodley ran it in for a 29-14 advantage.
Frederica added a touchdown but missed the extra point. In a scoreless fourth quarter, the Bethesda defense made a stand with about two minutes left and Frederica missed a field-goal try.
Tre’von Pray led Bethesda with 143 yards rushing on 22 carries, while Evans rushed eight times for 66 yards and one score, and Woodley ran 12 times for 45 yards and two scores.
Evans had three sacks, while defensive end Carl Middleton made seven tackles including two sacks.
